QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE BEFORE SCHEDULING
• What is your fee and do you accept insurance?
The fee is $150 per session. In certain situations, I use a sliding-scale for determining the hourly rate.
I am an in-network provider for several insurance companies; if so, I will bill your insurance company myself and you will be responsible for only your contracted co-pay. If I am not a member of your insurance network, I am considered an out-of-network provider. In this case, I will provide you with a superbill which you can submit to your insurance company; depending on your company’s policies, you may receive partial reimbursement. We can further discuss this issue in the first session, and figure out the best course of action in working with your insurance provider.
• How long does therapy last?
Your treatment depends on your goals for therapy. Once either of us believes that you may be close to reaching those goals, we will discuss a plan to end treatment. Ultimately, however, you are always in charge of your commitment to therapy and number of sessions.
For clients working on one central issue and for most couples I see, treatment length typically ranges from 3-6 months with appointments every one-to-two weeks, occasionally including a few follow-up sessions. Clients who have experienced trauma, abuse, or repetitive wounds from early years may require a longer commitment to ensure an optimal outcome.
